Wellington replied to Midland’s 331 with 428 for nine wickets. A feature of the innings was the great stand for 305 made by A. P. Monteath (181) and A. M. Hollings (118) for the fifth wicket, which established a Wellington record. University defeated Old Boys by 296 to 216 (Du Chateau 88, Robinson 44).
