REPAYMENT OF DEBENTURES BANK AGREES TO LOAN. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright CALGARY, January 20. (Received January 21, at 10 a.m.) The Bank of Montreal has agreed to a loan for Calgary of the 300,000d0l necessary to meet the United States exchange rates on 2,L35,000d0l in debentures which matured m New York on January 1. The mayor (Mr Davison) received a letter to-day to this effect from the bank’s head office at Montreal, arid will place it before the City Council for decision. Mr Davison said he had no reason to believe that the council would alter its refusal to pay the-debentures in other than Canadian funds.
