ASSAULT ON MEMBER MR MAHER APOLOGISES. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright BRISBANE, December 15. (Received December 15, at 10.5 a.m.) In the Assembly Mr Maher appeared before tii© bar of the House to answer a charge of having assaulted Mr Llewelyn. The Speaker read a letter from Mr Maher in which ho tendered a full apology to the House and to Mr Llewelyn. The latter said he would accept some of the blame and offered an apology for using certain words. The matter was then allowed to drop. [While in committee. Mr E. Llewelyn (Labour) said that Mr E. Maher (Country Party) had a filthy mind. Mr Maher walked across the Chamber and struck Air Llewelyn in the face. Mr Maher was suspended for the remainder of the session. Later the Premier moved that Mr Maher bo summoned to attend at the bar of the House to answer a charge of having assaulted Mr Llowlyn. This was agreed to.]
