■ ■ END DF TERM CONCERT The St. Hilda’s Collegiate School end-of-term concert and annual music competition was held in the school drill hall last evening; The programme , comprised pianoforte and violin solos and. duets, elocutionary and orchestral. items, and class singing,- and was excellently carried out by the following pupils Pianoforte and violin ,solos and. duets —E. Smeaton, H. .Parata, E., Price, P. Rutherford. B. Rutherford, H. Price, H. M'Kellar, A. Bell, J. Buchanan, D. Bloxham, M. Thompson, J. Barns, H. Macdonald, J. Barnett,; M. Burnside, C. Walker, M; Mathias,, and Is. Bragg; recitations—J. Fitchett, M. Mac Kay, M. Mathias, J. Denny, K. Falconer, M. Miimford, M. Scott, and P. Macdonald; class singing—Standards I, and 11.. junior and senior singing classes; and selections by the school string orchestra. No lessons are given _on the works played in the open music competition, which is a good test of musicianship.Ten girls competed, and the event was keenly contested, Joan Stewart being awarded first place, with Neta Bragg and Mary Mathias second (equal).
