The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office under date 13th inst. : “Wool: The sales have closed with
good inquiry from all branches of the trade. Current quotations are: Greasy merinos (60/64’s), 10id to 12d per lb'; greasy merinos, ordinary (60/fi4’s), 8d to 9d per lb; greasy merinos, inferior (60/C4’s), 7d to 7id per lb; greasy halfbreds (56’s), to Hid per Jb; greasy half-breds (50/56’s), 7.Jd to Bjd per lb; greasy cross-breds (50’s), Old to 7d per lb; greasy cross-breds (48/50’s), 5Jd to 6Jd per lb; greasy cross-bred (4G/48’s), sid to o-Jd per lb; greasy cross-breds (44/46’s), 5d to ssd per lb; greasy cross-breds (40/44’s), 4Jd to 5d per lb; greasy cross-breds (30/40’s), 4|d to 5d per lb.” The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Ltd. has received the following cable from London, dated December 13 ;—As compared with last sale’s closing rates, prices are lower par to id per lb for merino and crossbred lambs, medium and coarse scoured cross-bred, greasy merino; prices are lower id to Id per lb for merino scoured, coarse and medium cross-bred slipe, and id to Jd for medium greasy cross-bred and coarse greasy crossbred. Market unchanged for fine scoured cross-bred _ and fine cross-bred slipe; par to id higher for fine greasy cross-bred. The sales closed firmly to-day. ,
