JUNIOR RED GROSS ACTIVITIES

Tikis year the members oi tbo junior Red Cross, under the'direction of Sister Kirkpatrick,, have undertaken to supply clothing, etc., for the children’s health camp which is to he held at Waikouaiti, commencing on January 4. A visit to the St. John’s Ambulance itooms showed the immense amount of work that has already been done, to a great extent duo to the children’s efforts. Pretty little print dresses and aloomers are there in all sizes, ready for holiday wear on the beach; woollen .pullovers arc also provided for the older days. Each child will be given a bag confining a face cloth, a cake of soap, and i tooth brush, while a pair of pyjamas md a coloured pillow cover will also ie in the equipment. Home-made toys .'or the younger children, prettilydressed dolls that will delight the hearts of many little girls, and books and ;ames are all there in readiness. Among the many who have offered to help while the camp is in progress are those who will assist in the kitchen, in organising games' and folk dancing, and in the story telling hour, ever a welcome break in the day’s activities. An absence of community games was noticed, and some sets of table tennis and quartette cards would be welcome, in case of wet days. With these new activities tho children in the hospital have not been forgotten, and a group of verv prettily-dressed dolls has been set aside to send there for Christmas Hay, as the Junior Red Gross members’ annual donation.
