‘CORSAIR* FOR OCTAGON All the ingredients that go to mako good entertainment have been woven into ‘Corsair,’ which will open at the Octagon Theatre to-morrow. There is romance, action, intrigue, and adventure on the high seas, masterful direction and a cast which leaves nothing to be desired. The film is the Roland West adaptation of the novel by by Walton Green and Mr West has left no stone unturned in his efforts to make this one of the best films of its kind ever produced. When it is considered that Mr West has been among Hollywood’s foremost producers for thirteen years, an idea is gained of the heights to which he aspired. The principal of this United Artists picture is Chester Morris, the impelling actor of ‘ The Divorcee ’ and ‘ The Bat Whispers,’ and bis performances in these productions have given an indication or his sterling qualities as an actor. Three years ago Chester Morris was unknown to motion picture audiences, but through the sponsoring of Roland West he has achieved the heights of film renown. Mr Morris has been surrounded by four leading ladies in his latest production. One of the four is unrecognisable by name, but film-goers will know her instantly when they see her on the screen—Alison Lloyd, who for years has boon known as Thelma Todd. Having changed her personality from that of a light comedienne to that of a dramatic actress, Miss Todd changed her screen name. The three other leading ladies are Mayo Methot, Gay Seabrook, and Addle MThail, all of whom have established reputations on the stage. ‘ The Wycknam Mystery,’ an intriguing story of patriotism and treachery, adapted from the story ‘Paper Chase,’ by John M'Nally, will be the other attraction. John Longden. seen in ‘ Blackmail ’ and ‘ Atlantic, heads the fine British cast, which also includes Sam Livesay, famous character actor from ‘Young Woodley’ and ‘Mr Bill, the Conqueror, and Eve Gray, the Australian actress.
