The signing of the cotton peace agreement was atithorised to-day by the Central Committee of the Cotton Spinners and Manufacturers’ Association, and preparations have already been made for a general resumption of work in the mills to-morrow.
Sir Amos Nelson, a prominent figure in the textile trade, expresses the view that the industry’s opportunities at present are brighter than they have been for a long time past. A marked improvement, be added, had been shown in general inquiries from abroad for Lancashire cotton and artificial silk goods.
