LONDON TRAFFIC
MOUNTED POLICE OH POINT DUTY (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, September 27. Mounted police were yesterday posted for traffic control at five different points in the West End of London, taking the place of foot policemen for the first time. It is claimed that mounted officers have an advantage over foot policemen at certain points because they have a more commanding view of the traffic, and can be more easily seen by drivers. It is not intended to post mounted men at the busiest centres.
