WORKERS’ COMPLAINTS

The lack of shelters and conveniences on various relief work sites will be the subject of a complaint which is to be brought to the notice of the Unemployment Committee by a deputation on Friday morning. It is stated that there "are no conveniences for railway relief workers working up the -north line and that shelter in different places is quite inadequate. Another complaint is that men who live in the North End—some of them right at the head of the Valiev —have been sent out to do duty at Chisholm Park, and it is suggested that when work in nearby districts is not possible there should be some means of conveyance which will save the workers spending so much money on car fare. Many of the men also object to the necessity to carry relief ration cards about with them, for they deem it an injustice that gangers should he allowed to know to what extent they are being assisted.
