THE BACHELOR GIRL
SUBJECT TO GANGER SIGNS OF DEGENERACY. LONDON, May 20. The bobbed-hair, masculine type of girl, popularly known as the bachelor, is more subject to cancer than others, says Dr John Cope in his work, ‘ Cancer, Civilisation, and Degeneration.’ He regards cancer as a symptom of a degenerating age, and concludes that the prevalence will not bo abated unless the predisposing causes, which are sociological, are removed. He adds that nmsculinism in women —namely, splendid physique, mannish ways, and inhibited sox instincts—arc a. mark of degeneracy, paralleling eli'oininacy in men. Under-developed female beauty, which is now admired, in contrast to the Aphrodite type, is only gained by sacrifice of woman’s special attributes, declares Dr Cope,
