While kneeling chanting Psalms on tho banks of the Dnoister 100 villagers of Nubasari were massacred by a squadron of Soviet cavalry. Ej-c-witnosses on the Rumanian shore saw the peasants slashed with sabres and fired upon with machine guns till the banks were strewn with dead and dying.
