WOMEN TAKE TO PIPES
Two fashionably-dressed women smoking laney-shapod briar pipes, caused a sensation at Brighton, ringland, lately. Pipe smoking among women has become a craze at Brighton, while at Hove, close by, they have even gone so far as to hoi da women’s smokmg concert—hut in private. “ Thu craze is undoubtedly an attempt at economy,” it is stated. “ Jinny women are used to smoking only expensive Turkish and I'lgyptian cigarettes. The expenditure ot £1 to .‘los a week is proving too much lor them, and they arc trying something cheaper.”
