ROTARY CONFERENCE

Tho tenth conference, fifty-third district, Rotary International, opened in Dunedin to-day. The following social functions will be held:—This afternoon the ladies were invited to Larnach Castle, where they were the guests of Mr and Mrs J. Jackson Purdie. This evening a reception will bo held in Tudor Hall. Thursday afternoon, a motor drive in and around Dunedin, followed by afternoon tea at the Otago Women’s Club has been arranged. On Thursday evening the conference dance, with bridge for non-dancers, will be held in Tudor Hall. On Friday morning the ladies will visit tho Art Gallery, and in the afternoon all will be the guests of the president and Mrs P. R. Sargood at “ Marinoto.” On Saturday morning Mr Sydney Pascall, president Rotary International, will plant a “ tree of friendship ” in the Gardens.
