WOMEN’S BRANCH

A meeting of the women’s branch of the U.W.M. was held in the Tabernacle Hall, King street, last night before a largo attendance of women members. Nlxxs N. East was in the chair.

Correspondence was read from the Christchurch women’s branch of the U.W.M. and the general secretary of the U.W.M., Wellington. The. meeting was addressed by Messrs Braithwaito and Cocking. The latter spoke of the disloyalty of a few women members, who, in his opinion, should be expelled. The following resolution was carried unanimously: “ 'That no women are authorised by this branch to collect for a coal and blanket fund.”
