DUNEDIN PRESBYTERY
MONTHLY MEETING The Dunedin Presbytery met yesterday afternoon, the Moderator (the Rev. T. W. Potts) presiding over a large attendance. The following new commissions were handed in and sustained:—Messrs A. Campbell (Caversham), W. M'Hutchison (St. Andrew’s), R, Duncan (Green' Island), and T. Morrison (Opoho). The Home Missions Committee in Wellington intimated that the Peninsula Outfields grant had been reduced by £25.—A letter was received from the Rev. W. W. M‘Arthur protesting against this reduction. He stated that the work would be hampered.—The Presbytery discussed the matter sympathetically, and finally referred it to the Church Extension Committee with power to make representations to Wellington. A minute of appreciation of the five years’ pastorate at East Taieri of the Rev. A. C. Watson, who has accepted a call to St. Paul’s, Christchurch, was moved by Dr Gumming. The minute referred to valuable work done at East Taieri by both Mr and Mrs Watson, particularly among the young people.: Mr Watson’s efforts on behalf of the spiritual and material welfare of the unemployed were also commended. Tho minute was adopted. CALL FOR MUSSELBURGH. A deputation from the Musselburgh' Church, consisting of Messrs J. ,B. : Grant, James Anderson, and Kirkwood, waited on Presbytery, consequent upon the resignation of the Rev.
