RETURNED SOLDIERS
• TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—ln reply to Mr O’Donnell’s letter I, too, was disgusted to think that the officials were paid for Anzac Day, and returned soldiers were not. But what do they care about returned soldiers? The only day they are remembered is Anzac Day and a few other, odd occasions. I am a returned soldier, and was nearly four years at the war. Now I am on the “ dole.”\ In my last two places of employment I (was employed by a returned soldier (both members of the Returned Soldiers’ As. sociation and Returned Soldiers’ Choir), but in both cases I was dismissed and a single man kept in my place. I am not one to think a single man does not need work, but both these young men are in a position to run to the bank with most, of their wages. I think it would be a splendid idea jf the R.S.A. advised its members to help their “ digger comrades first.—l am, etc., Dinkdm Diggeb. May 3. ,
