Encouraging reports in regard to peace time activities were received from headquarters, Wellington. _ Work, it was stated, was extending m larauaki, great interest being shown in the weekly homo nursing classes, while several new junior Red Cross circles had been formed. Operations in Canterbury were also being enlarged, good results being reported from various centres. A notable feature was the enthusiasm displayed by members of classes in outlying districts. Airs 6. R. Ritchie submitted a satisfactory report from the hospital visitors. Tho patients appreciated the attention given them, and tho kindness of the staff and tho hostess. There were twenty-eight ex-servicemen receiving treatment at the public hospital. The conditions at Wakari were about the same. On the suggestion of Lady Ferguson and Air Smeaton it was resolved that the Red Cross car should be available for special visits to Wakari. Tho Alatron at Alontecillo reported that during the month six patients had been admitted and six discharged. Thirteen men were at present in the home. The men were very grateful to friends who continued to send gifts for their benefit. Alembers of committee also expressed their appreciation. Air King said that it was very heartening to members to receive words of acknowledgment, and it was felt that the time given to the work of tho society was well worth while. The following wore tho terms of a letter received from an ex-patient;—“ It is with gratitude and deep appreciation I thank members of tho committee and staff for tho happy and truly helpful time 1 spent in the home, and the kindly interest taken in my welfare, and your efforts to make me feel at home.
