■ -4- , General and Mrs Higgins, the Salvation Army leaders, were tendered a civil reception at Hamilton last evening before a large gathering, —Press Association. Mr G. R. M. Jones, who has been on a visit to Dunedin, returned to Timaru this morning. Mr Henry Kennedy, who has been temporary manager of the Strand Theatre for the past three months,, leaves Dunedin to-morrow to take charge for a period of the Majestio Theatre in Invercargill. Mr John Hamer, who has been managing the Invercargill theatre, will return to take up his duties at the St. James early next week. Rliss A. C. and Mr E. H. Hooper (London). Messrs L. Roet, John G. Perkins, and A. S. Horsley (Auckland). Messrs H. A. Le Pine, J. F. Welch, and C. W. Smith (Wellington), Mr J. Hawley Pennington (Christchurch), and Mr and Mrs J. A. Fraser (Invercargill) are new visitors to the Grand Hotel. Staving at the Excelsior Hotel are Mr G. G. Hill (Auckland), Mr H. T. Kitto (Wellington), Mr A. V. Just (Christchurch), Major Acland (Lake Wakatipu), and Mr W. G. Baker (Invercargill). Registrations at the City Hotel include Mr 0. C. Dunnet (Whangarei),Mr and Mrs M. M'Kenzie (Auckland), Mr T. A. Sellwood (Oamaru); and Mesdames E. Taylor and M‘Arthur** sen. and jun. (Alexandra).
