THE DX PRIZE FROM KGBX
Listening in one night a few mouths back, Mr Frank Barnett, of this city, heal’d station KGBX, St. Joseph, Missouri, broadcasting a DX programme, and so wrote to the station tolling the officials that he had heard the broadcast. To his surprise this week he received a packet through the post from KGBX, and upon opening it he discovered it was the prize that was awarded to the listener who heard the programme from the furthest distance away. Previously Mr Barnett had no idea that a prize was being offered in connection with the DX programme. The packet contained a fairly large box of chocolates, or, as the label stated, “ candy ” ; but the annoying part to the recipient was that he had to pay the Postal Department here 6s 5d before he could take delivery. Rather a dear box of sweets, especially when it was not ordered.
