TOMAHAWK COAL AND BLANKET FUND.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Tho president of the Tomahawk Unemployed Association is certainly getting a lot of encouragement in his efforts to help the unemployed of that district. Are “ Inquirer ” and other correspondents aware that benefit concerts and dances have to be organised, and the organising executive, who arc appointed by the majority of association members, get no moro benefits than other members of tho association? If all tho unemployed of the district put their shoulder to the wheel and helped themselves by joining and assisting tho association they would probably get their coal bins filled much more quickly than by backbiting.—l am, etc., Onlooker.April 15.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Your correspondent, “ Cold and Bungle Fund.” could not have chosen a more appropriate nom de plume for himself, as it is evident from the tono of his letter that his chief aim is to bungle the administration of the above fund. Ho could have put his interest to better use had lie come forward and offered to assist in placing this new organisation on a better footing, so

that it might be in a position to help those not engaged on relief work, whose position is as bad as that of relief workers, through no fault of their own. He might also have given further details of the case wherein eight children are without coal. The second sentence of this letter also applies to “ Inquirer.” Knowing they have received their erroneous information from a source which I again say is unreliable, and as I do not consider myself bound to reply to letters written by people who have not the principle to sign their own name, but prefer to hide in anonymity, this correspondence is closed as far as I am concerned.—l am, etc., April 15. W, Hoyne.
