To-day was proclaimed a public holiday in ‘Spain, which is celebrating the first anniversary of the Republic amid strikes and threats of strikes. Tho Madrid corresepondcnt of The Times’ says that strikers set fire to potterv works and attempted blow up a convent. The citizens of fcovillp are guarding tho churches day and night.
