POWER EXTRACTED FROM LINES IE AROHA COMPANY MANAGER HEAVILY FINED [Per United Press Association.] TE AROHA, April 15. Edward S. Thomas, of Paeroa, was fined £2O on each of two charges of tampering with tho Thames Valley Electric Power Board’s lines, and fraudulently extracting power. Tho defendant, by an ingenious contrivance, caused a circuit, cutting out the meter. To avoid detection, a special switch was operated by pulling a cord. Counsel for the power board stated that it was estimated that tho board was losing £3,000 a year by thefts. Defendant is the manager of the WaihiPaeroa Transport Company.
