PREPARATIONS WELL IN HAND The prospects of the coining Tailtennn Games grow brighter and more definite as the weeks go by, and the time grows shorter to the opening date, June 29 (says the official report). The various section committees are getting into their stride, and meetings are held more frequently in order to cope with 1 the ever-increasing inflint of inquiries from overseas as well as from all parts of Ireland. An index of the widespread interest which the games have aroused is to be found in the unprecedented number of requests for copies of the syllabus which have been received at the office of Aonach Tailteann, at No. 1 Lower Ormond quay. It is noteworthy that in England,Scotland, and Wales the games are attracting considerable attention, and the various councils located in these countreis hold out very alluring hopes of representative competing teams as well as of a largo number of visitors. It is also believed that economic conditions and the fluctuations of sterling will influence many people in Great Britain to spend their annual holiday in Ireland during the period of the games. -, An added feature to the programme of Aonach Tailteann is bowling, which is now included for the first time.Three Tailteann championship competitions will be held. These will be (a) single-handed (21 shots), (b) pairs each player plays four bowls, 21 ends), : (c) single rink (21 ends). The section will be carried out under the rules of the Irish Bowling Association, which hopes to interest South African and other overseas _ clubs to send teams which will bo eligible under Tailteann rules. The support of English, Welsh, and Scottish associations is also anticipated. Rowing; swimming, July 4,5, and 6;i golf, July 4,5, and following days;' motor cycling, July 2; gymnastics, July 4,5, and 6; Irish dancing, July 2to 9; art; June 18 to July 10; motor boat races; chess, July’ 4 to 12; drama,; June 27 to July 10; yachting, July 2;| bowling, June 30 to July 9.
