FARMERS’ UNION
MEETING AT WARRINGTON There was a fair attendance of members at a meeting of the Warrington branch of the New Zealand Farmers Union, which was held in the Warrington School on Friday evening last. Mr G. Crawford was in the chair. After tho routine business of the evening had been disposed of, members listened with interest to an address by Ah’ S. R, Whyte, of the Dunedin stall of the Farmers’ Union. Air Whyte explained to members some of the anomalies of the Mortgagors’ Relief Act, later pr iceedir.g to deal with the position of farmers in. relation to tho Workers’ Compensation Act whilst employing relief labour. Ha then passed on to the Workers’ Compensation Act, so far as it affected fanners, and the members were keenly interested in his remarks. Opportunities were given to ask questions, and full advantage ol this was taken by the members. The men then joined the ladies of the Warrington branch of tho Women s Division of tho New Zealand Farmers Union for supper, after which Air Whyte spoke to the ladies ou tho scrvice which the ollicc was endeavouring to rondo” to farmers and their wives through its trading organisation—Producers Lid. ....
