VISIT OF MISS JEAN STEVENSON
Miss Jean Stevenson, national secretary of the Y.W.C.A. for New Zealand, arrived in Dunedin on Wednesday, and is the guest of Miss Black, Archerfield, for a few days. She expects to be in Dunedin for a fortnight, and for the latter part of her visit will bo the guest of Mrs J. Sutherland Boss, “ Broomlands,’’ lloslyn. This is Miss Stevenson’s first visit to Dunedin since her appointment as national secretary in December last. She is, however, a Dunedin girl, being the daughter of the late Mr W. Stevenson and Mrs Stevenson, “ Cranmore,” Nevada. During her visit she will speak on the work of the Y.W.C.A., and several “ At homes ” have been arranged in her honour, when she will have an opportunity of meeting different people and explaining the broadened platform of the Y.W.C.A., to meet the needs of the modern girl. On Friday an allday conference of board members and committees was held, and on Monday afternoon an “ At Home ” for all members of the association will bo held in the Y.W.C.A. rooms in Moray place.
