'TILLY OF BLOOMSBURY'
There is evidence aplenty that the Dunedin public is beginning to take a pride in its local theatrical talent, and it is prepared to support local productions. This was amply proved when ‘ Tilly of Bloomsbury ’ was produced last year, for the public supported this well-known comedy with its patronage to such an extent that the theatre was packed to the doors on each of the three nights of the season. It is good news, therefore, that this same company is staging ‘ Tilly again for another short season at His Majesty’s Theatre on March 3,4, and 5, and it will be produced on the same lavish scale as heretofore. ■ The proceeds on this occasion will be devoted to the Otago Cricket Association. lan Hay, the author, admits that * Tilly ’ is his best effort, and describes this play as a comedy of love, laughter, and complications—a very apt description. The cast of characters includes the following well-known artists:— Misses A. Winkel, J. M'Lennan,. G. Burt, E. MTeak, I. Hill, Erana Newbold, and H. Smith, and Messrs H, Bain, C. Paine, R. Herbert, R. Simpson, D. Dali, Geo. Salmon, F. H. Lampen, and J. B. M'Connell. The box plan is at The Bristol.
