Tho New Zealand championship tournament has reached its linal stages, there being tho semi-final and tho final of the open championship and the final of tho ladies’ championship to bo played to-morrow. The weather to-day was perfect, and the lawns were in splendid order. In the final of the handicap singles between Mrs Watkins and Captain Hartnell both players in turn failed at the first hoop. Captain Hart--1 nell took advantage of Mrs Watkins’s shot in going to the penultimate stop. Captain Hartnell, taking another bisque, went from No. 3 to No. 4_ back, and on tho next turn to the stick he peeled his partner’s ball and laid for the stick. Mrs Watkins picked up a long shot, going from No. 2 in the course of tho break, peeling at the penultimate and rover and making a remarkable shot, putting both balls on tho stick from the line. The final score was 26-24. Results: — LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP. Second Life. ■—Final.— Mrs Kibblewhite beat Mrs Watkins, 26-12. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. —Third Round.— Mrs Tiffeu beat Mrs Kibblewhite, 21-26, 26-22, 26-20. HANDICAP SINGLES. —Final.— Airs Watkins (minus 1J) beat Captain Hartnell (1), 26-24.
