NGINGONGINGO CASE
NO ACTION TO BE TAKEN
[Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, January 21. A special meeting of the Trotting Conference was held to-day, the proceedings'being taken in committee. The following resolution was carried: —“ That clubs be requested to nominate eight members, six from the South Island and two from the North Island, as candidates for membership of the New Zealand Trotting Association. Such candidates shall be balloted for by the clubs in accordance with rule 39.” The conference also considered an application under rule 29 to consider a letter on behalf of Mr R, M. Morton regarding the Ngingongingo case. Mr Morton’s counsel addressed' the meeting, after which the following motion was carried: — “ That this conference affirms its confidence in the president of conference and in the judges appointed by him, and resolves that no action be taken upon the application of Mr Morton under rule 29.”
A motion was lost that under rule 29 the case be heard by three judges to be appointed as provided by rule
