SYDNEY BRIDGE
FIRST TRAIN CROSSES Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, January 19. Tiie first train to cross the Sydney Harbour bridge, 180 ft above the water, to-day was heralded by a salvo oi ferry sirens which attracted the attention of thousands of people on both sides of the harbour. A locomotive, drawing two carriages with the official party aboard, steamed slowly over the great structure, looking not much larger than a child’s toy amidthe maze of towering steel. The occasion was a noteworthy one in the history of the harbour bridge, and in the careers of the train crew.
