SWIMMING
FOUR RECORDS BROKEN [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, January 12. Two intermediate and two junior New Zealand records were broken at a carnival conducted in the tepid baths by the Auckland Swimming Centro tonight. In the intermediate 75 yards girls’ breaststroke Miss J. Webster swam the distance in 61 l-ssec, beating the previous record of 63sec formerly held by Miss D. Dowman, of Auckland. In the 220 yards free style fs. Crump covered the distance in 2min 34 2-ssec, lowering the record of 2min 35sec held by G. Bridson, of Auckland, In the junior 50 yards girls’ free style Miss E. Rainey did 31 2-ssec, compared with the record of 32sec held by Miss R. Low (Canterbury). In the 100 yards free style Miss Rainey swam the distance in 75sec, lowering the figures of 75 2-ssec held by Miss P. Sporle, of Manawatu. The following team has been chosen to represent Auckland in the intermediate junior championships to be held in Wellington on January 22 and 23;—N - Crump. Misses N. Ludlow, J.
