When fires are not being used, after cleaning a grate apply a little furniture polish and shine with a pad. The grate ill nor, rust, or require cleaning, except dusting, all the summer. Cartons tnat have contained cream, honey, etc., washed in hot water* rinsed in cold, are most useful for picnics. To remove sticky luggage lay thin paper over them and press with a warm iron. To water a hanging bask it, pmoo a small funnel in the centre, leaving the cup part above the soil, but hidden by the foliage. Fill this daily with water, which will gradually soak into the soil, and not run through on to the floor or tiles.
