CONVICTS ESCAPE
MAN-HUNT IN BRITISH COLUMBIA Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. VANCOUVER, January 4. The combined police forces in British Columbia are engaged in a man-hunt for the three desperate convicts who escaped mysteriously from the Oakalla Provincial Gaol. They are led by William Bagley, who is serving fourteen years for an hotel hold-up after having served seven years for a bank robbery. He was twice shot by guards in previous attempts to escape. Douglas Campbell and P. Cunningham, two of the guards, were suspended following the discovery that the cell locks and bars were intact.
