SPECIAL CHALLENGE RACE S. Jarvis (Dunedin) who has boon selected to represent Otago in the New Zealand junior boys’ championships at Lower Hutt on January 22 and 23, withstood a challenge from J. Barry (Dunedin) at the Municipal Baths last night, but not before a splendid race had been witnessed Barry had a slight advantage at the first turn, but the competitors wore together over the second lap. In a fine finish Jarvis spurted over the last 10yds and beat Harry by barely a foot. The time was 71 o-osec. The same swimmers will race over 220yds to-night.
