The opening day of the Grcymouth Trotting Club’s Meeting was held m showery weather, and the track was exceptionally heavy. Olive Nelson’s victory showed her stamina, speed, and ability to negotiate the track. She had made up half her handicap in the first circuit, and in the final circuit at the back went into third position, taking charge in the straight, to win comfortably by 'two lengths.
