HIGH DISDAIN WINS AGAIN SUMMER CUP TO VERTIGERN < ■ SYDNEY, December 27. The weather was brilliantly fine and hot for the second day of the Australian Jockey Club’s Meeting. The Randwick course was in excellent order. Principal results; — December Stakes, l,soosovs. sf. Nef (N.Z., 8.5, Webster) 1, Tingalba (8.10, Bartle) 2, Kuvera (8.5, M‘Carten) 3. Ton started. Won with plenty to spare, with a length and a-quarter between second and third. Time, COsec. Chisholm Handicap, 400sovs. 6f.—High Disdain (N.Z., 10.8, D. Munro) 1, Tom Pinch (9.9, J. Munro) 2, Casque d’Or (8.13, Pratt) 3. Nineteen started. Tom Pinch looked a winner, but High Disdain came through with a fine burst of speed and won by a long head. Time, Imin 12sec. Tenterden was nowhere. Summer Cup, l,ooosovs. 1m and sf. —Vertigem (N.Z., 8.7, M‘Carten) 1, Inducement (8.0, Cookl 2, Spearman (car. _ 8.9 J, Munro) 3. Twelve started, including Gemlight. From a good start Chase March led the field for a mile from Sackbut and Talkie. Then tho rest closed up and Talkie showed the way into tho straight, with Sackbut in attendance, but Inducement and Vertigem came through in great style and a good finish saw Vertigem win by a length, with Spearman a length and a-half away.
