CANCELLATION OF TRIP LIKELY. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, December 24. A report from San Francisco states that Mr Davis, the part owner of Phar Lap, was interviewed. Ho expressed surprise, and said he was a little nonplussed by the nows from Agua Caliente. He asked: “Can the club cancel the handicap after it has_ accepted a nominating fee? ” He intimated that he could not indicate his line of action without further considering the situation. He said: “Our chief purpose in bringing _ Phar Lap to America was to race in the handicap, but I cannot say whether we will do so if tho stake is reduced. Wo possibly may cancel his passage if time permits. I will make immediate inquiries.”
