PROTESTS OVER REDUCED GRANTS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, December 23. (Received December <23, at 1 p.m.) The limitation of the subvention payments to friendly societies to £50,000 a year has evoked heated protests from Opposition members in the Assembly. The Bill giving effect to the limitations was passed. The payments last year were £77,433.
