Sir Truby King came to Dunedin on Friday last as the guest of Mr and Mrs •I. A. Johnstone, and left this morning for Wellington. Mr and Mrs J. M‘C. Dickson travelled to Christchurch by the 8.40 train today. . Dr lan Fraser returned to Dunedin' during the week-end, after nearly four; years’ post-graduate work in England. Mr Leslie G. Moss, director of H. W.Moss Ltd., has returned to New Zealand after_ a six months’ trip abroad, during which he visited England, Scotland, France, Belgium, and Holland. In the accountancy examination results of the University of New Zealand published on Saturday the name of G, Ross (passed in auditing) was published as Rose. Having completed their years of training,. Miss Murray, Miss Davis, and Mr M‘Lean left the staff of the Macandrew Road School at the end of the scholastic year. In making the announcement at the break-up ceremony, Mr A. Smiley., expressed the good wishes of the committee for their future advancement.

At an interval in the sports meeting ; at Tahuna Park on Saturday afternoon; Mr E. L. Macassey (president of the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association) took the op-: portunity of making a presentation to the centre’s handicapper, Mr B. H.Rosevear, who acted as organiser of the recent queen carnival, which augmented the centre’s funds by £l6O. Mr Macassey said that the success of the effort was due in no small measure to. Mrs Rosevear’s excellent work. He then handed Mr Rosevear a handsome travel-1 ling rug, as a token ,of the esteem inj which he was held by members of the' centre and athletes generally. At the close of the school year Miss i Rita Brebner, 8.A., who is leaving the Macandrew Road School after being on the staff for seven years, was the recipient of several tokens of goodwill.The members of the staff entertained her at morning tea, and presented her, with three volumes of music. Mr A. H.-' Robinson made the presentation, and conveyed to Miss Brebner their good wishes for her future success. He referred to her good work in the classroom, and also m the social activities of the school. By her kindly manner she had endeared herself not only to the pupils, but to the members of the staff.: Mr H. D. Morgan, on behalf of the Luncheon Committee, handed her an original water colour, and Miss Murray presented her with some useful articles for , use in her new position. The scholars in her class presented her with some Doulton ware, and ex-pupils contributed a trinket box. Mr John Bowie, 8.A.,expressed his regret at losing a good teacher, and wished Miss Brebner success in her future career, Mr A. Smiley,, on behalf of the committee, wrote thanking her for past services and conveying their good wishes. Miss Brebner, takes up her new duties at the George j Street School at the beginning of the
