DUNEDIN GUN CLUB
The closing of the 1931 season attracted a largo attendance of members of the Dunedin Gun Club, and several visitors at the club’s grounds, Green Island, on Saturday afternoon.
Results;— Twelve Clay Bird Handicap. G. E. Turner (18yds) 12, 1; P. E. Wood (11yds) 12. 2; R. Graham (16yds) 11, 3; W. M'Breen (14yds) 22, 4. Other good scores were: E. P. Graham (22yds) 11, R. Seven Clay Bird Handicap.—G. E. Turner, R. M'Donald, W. M'Brcen, P. E. Wood each broke the possible, and in the-shoot-off R. M'Donald was the winner. Mr A. King refereed the matches.
In programme events (including “skoet,” throughout the season, Mr R. M‘Donald tallied the highest number of breaks, with Mr G. E. Turner second, and Mr E. P. Graham third. The Rutherford Cup for the highest number of first barrel breaks in programme matches (including “sheet”) was gained by Mr G. E. Turner. The club is contemplating next season establishing gun dog field trials under -the Ayres system of training, recently carried out successfully by the Canterbury Kennel Club.
