DOUGLAS CREDIT SCHEME.

TO THIS EDITOR. Sir, —You are to be congratulated upon offering the column of your paper for a frank discussion of the social credit system, which has recently come prominently under public notice. We are, all of us, desirous of getting at the truth, and, if we keep that object in view, we shall get somewhere on the road of progress. Mr Lloyd Ross, who begins a series of articles in this evening’s ‘ Star,’ is, I believe, a fairminded man, but lie is egregiously unfair to Major Douglas, unconsciously so,no doubt, in that he is criticising something not advocated by Major Douglas, which indicates that he has really not grasped the major’s teaching. Major Douglas does not advocate the just price as Mr Ross ■ has presented it.: Every student . who has grippeed the principles of social credit will tell you that. If your contributor had begun at the beginning, by. giving a correct outline of what social credit is, ho would not have fallen into this pitfall. He is really unfair to himself, and to your readers as well'. It is not] my present purpose to instruct Mr,’ Lloyd Ross, for he is a cultured man.A more intensive study of the .subject: will enable Mr Ross to recognise his ( error, himself, and it will be within the bounds of possibility that be will become a disciple of Major Douglas u the near future.—l am, etc., R. Eccles.; December 16.
