SALESMAN IN COURT (Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, December 10. “ We know of eight charges of false pretences which in all probability will bo laid,” said the chief detective in the Magistrate’s Court referring to Rudolph Benjamin, a salesman, aged 43, charged with converting a motor car to his own use and with stealing, on December 1, at Invercargill, a washing machine valued at £46 10s, the property of Gough, Gough, and Hamer Ltd. Accused was remanded to appear on December 17.
