NEED FOR ASSISTANCE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I would like to ask “ Sixtytwo ” if he reared his family along the lines we relief workers are supposed to. I receive 31s 3d for three weeks out of every four, or £4 13s 9d per month, or £1 3s old per week.I pay 18s (or at least I am expected to) a week house rent, which leaves me 5s 6|d a week, or 9!d a day to buy food and clothing and firing, etc , for my wife, two children, and myself, besides saving out of this sum 5s every three months for the right to be allowed to work. After I buy the aforementioned goods X wonder would “ Sixty-two ” approve of my allowing my wife and children to go to the pictures while I go and do the round of the “ pubs.” I think “ Sixty-two ' • and a few more would be doing a more manly act to give us a little more sympathy, instead of putting in the boot when we are down.-—I am, etc.* Ox the Doee.
