THE PRAIRIE PROVINCES BRIGHTER PROSPECTS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright* OTTAWA, August 5. (Received August 6, at 1.5' p.m.) Excessive high temperatures during late July have further reduced tho crop prospects in the drought areas in. the prairie provinces, but in the last week cooler weather and good rains have helped to mend the situation, according to a report by the Bureau of Statistics.
