ACCOMMODATION HOUSE DESTROYED
OCCUPANTS ESCAPE WITHOUT EFFECTS [l’eu United I’uass Association.] BLENHEIM, August G. Tho Rai Valley accommodation house on tho'road to Nelson, owned by Mr M. Hart, and leased by Mr G. Mosely, a place 'of sixteen rooms, was totally destroyed by fire this morning at 2.30. It was built six' years ago. ■ Tho -eleven inmates had hut time to escape in their might attire. Splendid work by residents saved the adjoining store and bakehouse, owned hv Mr Hart. ■
A very heavy frost, during' the night made it difficult at first to obtain water, which hampered..--efforts. The •telephone wires wore burnt through. The insurances are not available, but Messrs Hart and Mosely will bo heavy losers.
