‘ WOMEN’S HOUSEHOLD GUIDE ' “ A melting-pot of recipes! They como from far and near, and cadi one must bo tested before wo print it here.” With these words, the Women’s Division of the New Zealand Danners’ Union announced the publication of the 1 New Zealand Women’s Household Guide,i. the second edition of which is now to hand. In the foreword, the following now appears:—“Often tho housewife i* hard put to it to find a recipe or hint just when it is wanted, but this book has been compiled in a spirit cf helpfulness to furnish recipes which to every section of domestic life. Therefore we dedicate it to tho hardest worked of all, ‘ Tho Housewife.’ ” Not only does the book contain a comprehensive selection of recipes (or every branch of culinary art, but also included aro recipes for polishes, varnishes, soap, sandsoap, and household hints of every kind, while other section deal with ‘ The Dairy,’ ‘ Home Nursing,’ ‘ Tho Country Woman’s Gar- ‘ Farm Poultry,’ and ‘ Bees as a Sideline.’ _ ■ Over GOO copies have been sold in Otago (the cost per copy is 2s) and already the dominion sales amount to 0,000, though tho book was published only a few months ago. Copies may bo obtained by sending to the Women’s Division, New Zealand Farmers’ Union, P.O. Box G43,_ Dunedin, or on application to tho division office, first floor, Public Trust Building, Moray place, or by applying to division branch secretaries throughout New Zealand.
