Mr A. Melville, who was formerly a> prominent member of the Otago Amateur Athletic Association, and who has been on a visit to Dunedin, returned to Wellington by this morning’s express. Mr A. E. G. Lyttle, Christchurch manager of the Farmers’ Mutual Fire Insurance, returned to Christchurch this morning, Mr T. Spragge-Mould, 5.F.A.1., international registrar of the International Accountants’ Corporation, left for Christchurch to-day. Dr Newlands and Hon. J. A. Hanan left for Auckland this morning to attend the annual meeting of the Senate of the New Zealand University which opens on January 14. Mr P. N. Bundle travelled to Wellington by the through express to-day. Mr J. H. Forde, who has been on a. visit to Dunedin, returned to Wellington this morning. Flying-officer Olsen, pilot instructor to the Otago Aero Club, left the Taieri aerodrome tin’s morning for Oamaru, where ho will spend the day making arrangements with intending flying pupils. Mr M'Dermid, of Oamaru, accompanied him as passenger. Mr G. C. Henderson, who has been tho Dunedin manager of the Royal Insurance Company for several years past, lias received notification of his promotion to the position of manager _ at Auckland. Mr Bullock, of the Wellington office, has been appointed actingmanager at Dunedin. Captain Chandler, who has been in charge of the Salvation Army in Dunedin for the past two years, has received intimation of his transfer to Newton, a suburb of Auckland, and will leave Dunedin on January 20. There will be a farewell meeting to Captain Chandler in the barracks, Dowling street, on Sunday, January 18, and a final public meeting on the following night. Bennett (Auckland), Mr and Mrs R. B. Owen, Mr and Mrs W. Evans (Christchurch), Miss R. Donovan (Oamaru), Mr and Mrs P. W. Hewitt (Invercargill).
