Mr J. A. Roberts, who has been on a visit to the Home Country, returned to Dunedin by the through express yesterday. Mr J. A. Cook, a steward of tho Dunedin Jockey Club, left for Christchurch by to-day’s express. Mr A. Davidson left Port Chalmers to-day for Albury, where lie has been appointed postmaster. Prior to leaving Green Island School to take up a position in the Morningtou School, Miss Crimp was presented with a hat box from the scholars and a number of books from the staff. Among those persons staying at the Grand Hotel are Mesdamps F. G. Chomley and J. M'Caughey (Australia), Mr E. F. Summers (Brisbane), Messrs H. R. Hallard and A. W. Osborne (Wellington), Mr and Mrs O. R. Kresse, Messrs E. Provost, A. C. Movsey, W. C. Brydon, and J. N. Beighton (Christchurch), Mr E. C. Rawnsley (Ashburton)), Mr A. Anderson (’Timaru), Mr D. M‘Donaid (Waimate), and Mr J. Simpson (Oamaru). The guest list at the Excelsior Hotel includes Mr D. G. Zwartz (Arnheim, Holland), Mrs Jackson, Mr W. Alexander (Auckland), Mr E. Perry (Wellington), and Mr A. L. Alexander (Christchurch).
