FAT LAMBS
ADVICE TO AUSTRALIAN FARMERS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, SYDNEY, November 5, (Received November 5, at 10 a.m,) Mr R. P. Allen, chief veterinary officer of the Department of Markets, has issued a report advising growers in Australia to raise fat lambs for export of the type produced in New Zealand, which is the best in the world. He says the breeds are largely confined to the Downs type, and also Border Leicester and Romney Marsh. He is of opinion that the production in many parts of Australia of wellformed, nice sappy lambs, with a maximum of bloom, should not be difficult, and should seriously compete with New Zealand supplies.
