TWO PLANES MISSING
SEARCH IN BRITISH COLUMBIA FATE OF SIX MEN UNCERTAIN. Pre*» Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. VANCOUVER, November 4. (Received November 5, at 9.15 a.m.) Two planes and six men, lost in Northern British Columbia, are tho subject of an extensive search staged by a fleet of planes co-operating with six Government fisheries’ patrol vessels. Captain E. J. Burke, of Vancouver, when flying two prospectors to the Liard mining post, disappeared on October 12. Captain Pat Renahau, of Vancouver, hopped off to search with two mechanics on October 28, and vanished after leaving the Prince Rupert coast, which was shrouded in fog. For a fortnight Government vessels have been systematically sweeping tho whole coast. Burke and his companions are feared to be dead, as, if alive, they could have reached civilisation easily in the time which has elapsed.
